About This Conference
After the legendary success of the first and second conference on ceramic matrix composites at Santa Fe, NM, USA (2017 and 2022), we are pleased to announce the next conference in this series will be held in Japan.
Fiber-reinforced ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) are an important class of materials for high temperature applications. Understanding of past and recent achievements and remaining unsolved issues in the area of CMCs is crucial for further research and development and applications. Since CMCs are complex materials posing multi-disciplinary scientific and technological issues, it is critical that a forum such as this conference exist.
The meeting will provide a forum for stimulating information exchange for this cutting-edge technology and its scientific achievements. More than fifty industry leaders and international technology experts are planned to make invited presentations. Additional poster presentations on recent hot topics are planned during the meeting.
The meeting will cover all R&D and application aspects for CMCs: from materials development to applications in gas turbines, aircraft turbines, nuclear fission and fusion, space/hypersonics, rocket propulsion, brakes, energy and industry.
Non-oxide-based and oxide-based CMCs and their environmental barrier coatings (EBCs) are target materials of the meeting. Advanced ceramic fibers, processing, evaluation, performance analysis, modeling, quality control, degradation, and EBCs are major areas of the meeting. Discussions on the current issues and directions for future research and collaborations are the main subjects of the meeting.

Call for Abstracts
The meeting will cover all R&D and application aspects for CMCs: from materials development to applications in gas turbines, aircraft turbines, nuclear fusion and fission, space/hypersonics, rocket propulsion, brakes and cladding, energy and industry. Advanced ceramic fibers, processing, evaluation, performance analysis, modeling, quality control, degradation, and environmental barrier coatings (EBCs) are major areas of the meeting.
Original papers for presentations at the above listed topics are invited. Accepted presentations will all be delivered in a single-session mode.
If you wish to be considered for an oral or poster presentation, please submit a one-page abstract that includes specific results and conclusions to allow a scientific assessment of the proposed oral or poster presentation.
Poster sessions are an integral part of the conference. Graduate students and young investigators are particularly encouraged to present posters.
Please prepare your abstract according to this template: docx or doc.
Abstracts can be submitted at: https://ssl.linklings.net/conferences/CeramicMatrixComposites
Deadlines
Abstract submission for oral presentation: June 23, 2025
Abstract submission for poster presentations: August 25, 2025
Abstracts of all presentations will be made available to conference participants prior to the start of the conference.
Note: Only a limited number of oral presentation slots are available and thus all submissions for oral sessions will be considered for both oral and poster presentation.
Awards will be presented to the top non-student poster as well as the top student poster.
Venue Information
Hokuto, Yamanashi prefecture, Japan: Hokuto is located in north west corner of Yamanashi prefecture. Hokuto covers a very large area—603 ㎢ and is enclosed on three sides by tall mountains. The Mt. Yatsugatake range lies on the city’s northern boundary, Mt. Kai-Komagatake and the Minami Alps dominate the western border, and to the east are Mt. Kayagatake, Mt. Mizugaki and other peaks in the Chichibu Mountains rising more than 2,000 m above sea level. The expansive Kofu valley opens up to the south of Hokuto, with the majestic contours of Mt. Fuji visible beyond that. Within the city limits, there are dwellings between 400 m and 1,400 m altitude, and the nature, landscape, and social infrastructure woven into this topography forms a diverse array of spaces.

General Information About ECI
Engineering Conferences International (ECI) is a not-for-profit, global engineering conferences program, originally established in 1962 that provides opportunities for the exploration of problems and issues of concern to engineers and scientists from many disciplines.
The format of the conference provides morning and late afternoon or evening sessions in which major presentations are made. Poster sessions will be scheduled for evening discussion as well. Available time is included during the afternoons for ad hoc meetings, informal discussions, and/or recreation. This format is designed to enhance rapport among participants and promote dialogue on the development of the meeting. We believe the conferences have been instrumental in generating ideas and disseminating information to a greater extent than is possible through more conventional forums.
All participants are expected both to attend the entire conference and to contribute actively to the discussions. The recording/photographing of lectures and presentations is forbidden. As ECI conferences take place in an informal atmosphere, casual clothing is the usual attire.
Smoking is prohibited at ECI conferences and conference functions.
